Priyank Kharge, Karnataka IT/BT and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister, categorically denied allegations made by BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya regarding the allotment of land to a trust managed by Kharge's family. Kharge stated that the site, allotted by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB), was intended for educational purposes, not industrial or commercial use.
Taking to social media platform X, Kharge clarified that the KIADB had neither provided subsidies nor relaxed payment terms for the trust. He emphasized that the trust aims to establish a multi-skill development center on the plot. "Little knowledge is dangerous. The site is for educational purposes. Is it wrong?" Kharge questioned.
Kharge further added that the trustees have extensive experience in managing educational institutions and that the chairman has a notable history with the Indian Institute of Science. These allegations arise amid a broader controversy involving Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who faces prosecution approval from Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot over another land allotment issue.
