The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), in alliance with Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), has unveiled a list of 19 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections. Among the prominent names are Dushyant Chautala from Uchana and Digvijay Chautala from Dabwali.
The JJP has nominated 15 candidates while the ASP has fielded four. The alliance aims to contest all 90 seats in the assembly, with JJP competing on 70 and ASP on 20. This comes after former JJP leaders joined the BJP, predicting a BJP-led government for a third term.
Haryana will go to the polls on October 5, with the final date for filing nominations being September 12 and vote counting scheduled for October 8. Previously, the BJP-JJP coalition government was formed in 2019, but dissolved this year. The state is set for a four-way contest in 2024 between BJP, Congress, JJP, and AAP.
