Mourning and Resilience: Ukraine's Response to Deadly Airstrikes

Funeral services were held for victims of one of the deadliest Russian airstrikes since the Ukraine war began. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed to increase domestic military production through underground weapons factories, aiming to fortify defense against ongoing Russian missile and drone attacks.

Massive funeral services took place Saturday in Poltava to honor victims of a devastating Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian military training facility, which left over 50 dead and more than 300 injured. The airstrike is considered one of the deadliest since the onset of the war in Ukraine.

Hundreds, including bereaved families, local residents, and officials, gathered solemnly at the Cathedral of the Assumption. The service was marked by air raid sirens and silent tributes as hearses passed on their way to a military cemetery.
