The Haryana poll battle escalated on Tuesday as major political figures, including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and state Congress president Udai Bhan, submitted their nominations for the October 5 assembly elections. The ruling BJP also released its second list of 21 candidates.

The AAP, unable to form an alliance with the state’s main opposition party Congress, introduced its second and third lists of 20 candidates each. Notably, former minister Chhatar Pal Singh switched from BJP to AAP and is now contesting from Barwala.

Chief Minister Saini filed his nomination from the Ladwa constituency, accompanied by Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal. Congress' Bhan and JJP's Digvijay Singh Chautala also submitted their nominations. The nomination window remains open until September 12.
