Prime Minister Modi Begins US Visit for Quad Leaders' Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Philadelphia for a three-day US trip, commencing with the Quad Leaders' Summit in Wilmington. The summit, initially planned for India, was held in the hometown of US President Biden. This event serves as a farewell summit for both Biden and Japanese PM Kishida.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Philadelphia on Saturday, marking the start of his three-day US visit. The highlight of his trip is the Quad Leaders' Summit, being held in Wilmington, Delaware.

Originally scheduled to take place in India, the summit was relocated to the United States, largely due to President Joe Biden's wish to host it in his hometown. The current summit is particularly significant as it serves as a farewell meeting for both Biden, whose term ends on January 20, 2025, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, whose tenure concludes on October 1, 2025.

The other notable leaders attending this critical summit are Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A retrospective glance at past summits reveals various hosting formats and major geopolitical discussions.
