Independent Legislator Saryu Roy Protests Delayed Rs 30 Crore Developments

Independent legislator Saryu Roy on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the East Singhbhum district collector's office, protesting the delayed implementation of development projects worth Rs 30 crore in his constituency.

Roy was joined by supporters from the Bhartiya Jantantra Morcha and JD(U) activists. He addressed the gathering, stating that while development projects worth Rs 155 crore were completed within three years, the work for other projects valued at Rs 30 crore had not started despite available funds.

Citing inactivity of the district administration, Roy demanded a written explanation for the delays. He also criticized AICC Executive Committee member Dr Ajoy Kumar and Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta for accusing him of failing to deliver on employment promises and halting the Industrial City Committee's formation. Roy further alleged mismanagement of Rs 5,000 crores by the health department over the past five years with no noticeable improvements in local hospitals, calling for an investigation and stringent action against those responsible.
