Congress Calls for Probe into EVM Discrepancies in Haryana Polls

The Congress party has demanded an investigation into discrepancies found in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) during the Haryana assembly elections' vote counting. Allegations include unexpected EVM battery capacity levels and concerns over counting accuracy. A delegation met with Election Commission officials, requesting the probe and the sealing of questioned EVMs.

The Congress party has called for a detailed investigation into alleged "discrepancies" with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) found during vote counting in the Haryana assembly elections. Party leaders argued that the anomalies might have affected the electoral outcome, favoring unexpected results.

A delegation of senior Congress leaders, including ex-chief ministers Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Ashok Gehlot, met the Election Commission to discuss the issue. They handed over complaints from various constituencies, highlighting EVMs operating at unusual battery levels when compared to others.

Party representative Abhishek Singhvi requested that the Election Commission seal and secure the contested EVMs until the investigation concludes. With potential implications on assembly results, Congress has urged for an expedited examination to ensure transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
