AJSU Party Kicks Off Campaign with First Candidate List

The AJSU Party, an NDA ally in Jharkhand, announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections. Party supremo Sudesh Kumar Mahto will contest from Silli. The elections are scheduled for November 13 and 20, with results on November 23.

The AJSU Party, allied with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Jharkhand, announced its first list of candidates on Sunday for the impending assembly elections in the state. Sudesh Kumar Mahto, the party's supremo, will run for election from the constituency of Silli.

According to the seat-sharing agreement, the AJSU Party, a constituent of the NDA, will contest in 10 seats, while partners JD(U) and LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest in two and one seat, respectively. The Bharatiya Janata Party will field candidates for the remaining 68 seats.

Mahto, who secured a victory in the 2019 Silli assembly race by a margin of 20,195 votes, defeated his closest competitor, JMM's Seema Devi. In addition to Mahto's nomination, the AJSU Party announced that Sunita Choudhary will contest from Ramgarh, and Neeru Shanti Bhagat from Lohardaga. The 81-member Jharkhand Assembly elections will unfold in two phases, scheduled for November 13 and 20, with vote counting on November 23.
