Congress Unveils First List for Jharkhand Assembly Elections

The Congress party announced its initial list of 21 candidates for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, spotlighting key figures such as Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon contesting from Lohardaga and senior leader Ajoy Kumar for the Jamshedpur East seat.
In an effort to strengthen their position, the party has chosen Shipli Neha Tirkey as the candidate for the Mandar constituency, where she holds incumbency, reinforcing her father's role as the chairman of the Congress's manifesto committee for the polls.
Deliberations leading to these selections included top-tier meetings with Congress stalwarts like Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi. Polling is scheduled in two phases in November as Congress collaborates with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
