Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar confirmed on Tuesday that the governing Mahayuti alliance, spearheaded by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is on the verge of finalizing its seat-sharing strategy for the forthcoming state assembly elections scheduled for November 20.
Pawar informed reporters that while some seats have been settled, a decision about the remaining seats is anticipated imminently. He clarified his absence from Monday's meeting in Mumbai with BJP and Shiv Sena leaders, stating that discussions at that stage concerned only those two parties.
The deputy chief minister explained that crucial paperwork, particularly the A and B forms indicating party-approved candidates eligible for designated election symbols, has been issued to accommodate candidates filing nominations during the auspicious 'muhurat'. Although media speculations suggest possible seat allocations, no official confirmation has been issued by alliance representatives.
