Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde paid homage at the Kamakhya Devi Temple in Guwahati, Assam, as the high-stakes assembly elections approach on November 20.
Shinde's visit recalls the dramatic events of June 2022, when he, alongside 39 rebel MLAs, challenged Uddhav Thackeray's leadership, causing a split in the Shiv Sena and leading to his ascension as chief minister with BJP's backing.
On Tuesday, in a display of religious devotion and political strategy, Shinde visited Guwahati again. His party has yet to reveal its candidates for the upcoming elections, where the coalition with BJP and NCP will be put to the test.
