Crafting a New Global Order: Dialogue and Diplomacy at the Forefront

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called for dialogue and diplomacy to settle global disputes during the BRICS Outreach session in Kazan, Russia. Representing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaishankar outlined a five-point plan aiming to create a more equitable global order.
Jaishankar emphasized the need to address past distortions in global infrastructure, legacies of the colonial era, while respecting territorial integrity. He also stressed the urgency of improving connectivity to bolster logistics and mitigate risks globally.
Highlighting the uneven distribution of globalisation's benefits and the burdens the Global South faces, Jaishankar proposed reforms in multilateral institutions. He cited India's digital public infrastructure as a model for aiding in crises. The meeting was attended by nearly 40 countries and heads of international organizations, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
