Steve Bannon Released: Political Turmoil's Unyielding Figure Resumes His Fight

Steve Bannon, a longtime ally of Donald Trump, was released from prison after serving a four-month sentence for defying a congressional subpoena related to the January 6 Capitol attack. He plans to hold a news conference and resume his podcast, while facing additional charges in New York.

Longtime Trump associate Steve Bannon emerged from a Connecticut prison early Tuesday after serving a four-month stint for contempt of Congress related to the investigation of the January 6 Capitol riot.

Upon his release, Bannon, 70, voiced plans for a news conference in Manhattan and the resumption of his podcast later in the day, according to representatives.

Bannon's legal troubles persist, with a New York state court trial looming in December for charges including money laundering and fraud, tied to his alleged deceit of donors for a US-Mexico border wall project.
