President Joe Biden stirred political controversy by labeling supporters of Donald Trump as 'garbage' in reaction to crude and racist comments made during a Trump rally at Madison Square Garden.

Biden's remarks, made during a call hosted by Voto Latino, targeted rhetoric from a rally speaker who insulted Puerto Rico. He emphasized his disapproval of Trump’s demonization of Latinos as 'unconscionable' and 'un-American.'

Biden's comments were swiftly seized upon by Republicans, with figures like Florida Sen. Marco Rubio using them to galvanize Trump's base. Meanwhile, some Democrats distanced themselves from Biden's remarks, echoing memories of past divisive statements in presidential campaigns.
