In a bid to bolster healthcare for senior citizens, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the 'Sanjeevani Yojana' on Wednesday. He announced that the scheme aims to provide free medical treatment to all Delhi residents over the age of 60.
Addressing a public gathering, Kejriwal emphasized the challenges faced by the elderly, including neglect by family. 'The biggest worry in old age is access to treatment. This scheme ensures that everyone, regardless of their financial status, receives free healthcare,' Kejriwal stated.
Kejriwal assured that registration for the scheme would commence shortly, spearheaded by AAP workers at the homes of eligible residents. 'Registration will start in 2-3 days, at your doorstep,' he announced, adding that the initiative would be implemented after the upcoming elections, expected in early 2025.
