Union Minister Harsh Malhotra has launched a fierce critique of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing them of consistently avoiding positive politics. His remarks come in the wake of a recent gathering of Punjab MLAs, ministers, and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal post a significant defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Malhotra claimed, "They have never done positive politics. The situation in Punjab is much worse than in Delhi. They (AAP) are looting the people of Punjab also." With the BJP prepared to form a government in Delhi after 27 years, this comes following their remarkable victory in the elections.

AAP experienced considerable losses in the Delhi elections, capturing only 22 seats, a steep decline from their previous 62-seat victory in 2020, while the Congress failed yet again to secure a single seat. The BJP's triumph with 48 seats marks a significant return to power in the national capital after 27 years, overturning over a decade of Kejriwal's governance.

In parallel events, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP MLAs convened with Kejriwal in Delhi. Post-meeting, Mann disclosed that Kejriwal expressed gratitude for their efforts during the Delhi elections.

Furthermore, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale commented on AAP's electoral setback, suggesting that Punjab could soon slip from their grip. Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa remarked that Kejriwal's decision to convene a meeting shortly after the elections indicated signs of internal breakdown.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal also criticized the AAP, alleging misconduct regarding Punjab's governance, hinting that some perceive the state as a "personal ATM." (ANI)
