In a significant diplomatic engagement on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the importance of bolstering trade and investment links between India and France. Both leaders showcased their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, particularly within the Indo-Pacific region and various international platforms.
Beyond economic synergy, the duo explored the potential of the global AI sector to drive positive social, economic, and environmental changes worldwide. They reiterated an urgent call for reforms within the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), highlighting areas for enhanced coordination on international concerns, including those related to the UNSC.
President Macron affirmed France's consistently strong support for India's quest for permanent membership in the UNSC. The leaders noted that their bilateral strategic partnership, formed 25 years ago, has progressively developed into a diverse and multifaceted relationship.
