At the ongoing Aero India-2025, BJP MP Tejasvi Surya took to the skies in the Indian-made HTT-40 trainer aircraft. The sortie lasted thirty minutes, showcasing India's aeronautical prowess, with the aircraft being designed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Speaking afterwards, Surya praised HAL, referring to it as both the pride of Bengaluru and India. He emphasized the significance of the HTT-40, labeling it a testament to India's journey towards self-reliance in aeronautics.

Surya criticized the previous government's decision to purchase foreign-made aircraft instead of prioritizing HAL. The swift development of the HTT-40 underlines a shift from foreign dependence to aatmanirbharta, highlighting India's enhanced trust in its domestic engineering capabilities.
