The Parliament witnessed heated discussions following allegations from the opposition regarding the removal of dissent notes from the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) report on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi confirmed that the majority of the dissent notes were reinstated in the report scheduled for discussion in the Lok Sabha.

Owaisi, alongside MPs like A Raja and Kalyan Banerjee, met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who ordered that the dissent notes be included according to parliamentary rules. The report excluding certain critical remarks about the committee’s functioning will be tabled at 2 pm, as per Owaisi.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge criticized the JPC's report, accusing it of being anti-democratic for omitting opposition members' dissent, asserting their removal compromises the report's integrity. Countering this, JP Nadda emphasized maintaining parliamentary protocols, while Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar warned MPs disrupting proceedings.
