Anurag Thakur, a BJP MP, has called for an aggressive approach to dismantle drug cartels in Himachal Pradesh, urging the apprehension of cartel leaders to effectively curtail narcotic smuggling.
Speaking to media on Friday, Thakur stressed the necessity for the collaboration of society, families, government, and opposition to significantly combat drug abuse. He advocated for the creation of specialized teams by the state government and noted ongoing central government efforts nationwide to address the issue.
Thakur also touched on political transparency, challenging the opposition's reservations about the Wakf Amendment Bill. He emphasized Prime Minister Modi's initiative for a Joint Parliamentary Committee to resolve the matter and ensure proper use of Waqf lands.
