Debabrata Saikia, the leader of the opposition in Assam assembly, has called on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to reveal any information he has regarding Pakistani citizen Ali Tauqeer Sheikh. Saikia emphasized the significance of this matter, especially if it concerns national security issues.
The opposition leader also insists that top BJP officials, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, be held responsible for Sheikh's purported anti-India activities. Saikia's comments come amid an ongoing investigation by the Assam Police, which has set up a Special Investigation Team to delve into Sheikh's alleged social media comments affecting India's internal affairs.
Chief Minister Sarma has alleged that Sheikh, who has visited India multiple times, poses a threat to national security. Saikia, however, stressed that if Sarma possesses any security-related information, he should promptly disclose it to proper authorities rather than delaying it for any reason.
