In a recent move, Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra has launched a scathing critique of the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration, accusing it of neglecting road maintenance in the national capital. Mishra pointed out the ubiquitous presence of broken roads, potholes, and frequent waterlogging, and emphasized that all cabinet ministers have taken to the streets to address these issues.
During an interview with ANI, Mishra asserted, "Under Arvind Kejriwal's government, the condition of Delhi's roads worsened significantly. Everywhere, roads are either broken and dusty or marred by potholes and waterlogging. Every cabinet minister is now on the ground to ensure the roads are fixed promptly." He claimed that the Kejriwal administration's inaction is over, and work will now proceed under the directives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
While Mishra, who recently took charge of departments such as Law and Justice and Tourism, is vocally criticizing his predecessors, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has been actively meeting with key officials to discuss infrastructural challenges. Gupta announced the approval of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, previously stalled by AAP, and reiterated her cabinet's commitment to tackling road issues. Future meetings are expected to delve into further critical concerns to meet public needs.
