AAP MLAs, spearheaded by Leader of Opposition Atishi, staged a demonstration outside the office of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday, pressing for the BJP's promise to provide Rs 2,500 to women post the first Cabinet meeting.

Atishi revealed their prior request for a meeting with the CM, citing unfulfilled promises by PM Modi. Despite no firm assurance, the CM aimed for a resolution by March 8. The protest occurred amid the inaugural session of the new Delhi Assembly, witnessing the BJP regain control after 26 years.

The swearing-in saw BJP MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely appointed as the pro-tem Speaker. The session began with "Vande Mataram," marking the BJP's decisive election victory, ending AAP's ten-year governance, with BJP securing 48 seats to AAP's 22.
