Political Turmoil in Punjab: AAP and Congress Leaders Eyeing BJP

BJP leader Tarun Chugh claims numerous AAP and Congress leaders are eager to join BJP, countering Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa's assertion that 32 AAP MLAs are ready to switch to Congress. Bajwa's remarks likening the situation to the Maharashtra political reshuffle add tension to Punjab's political landscape.

In a development reflecting the shifting dynamics of Punjab's political scene, BJP leader Tarun Chugh has asserted that a significant number of leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress are eager to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This statement counters the claims of Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa, who alleged that 32 AAP MLAs are prepared to embrace Congress.

Chugh accused both AAP and Congress of damaging Punjab's interests, citing their failure to address issues like the drug menace, women's empowerment, youth employment, and farmers' income. These remarks come in the wake of Bajwa's analogy to the 'Eknath Shinde episode' in Maharashtra when several Shiv Sena MLAs defected to form a new government.

Bajwa, standing firm on his statement, explained that the AAP MLAs are voluntarily seeking a future with Congress, dismissing suggestions of destabilizing the government. He equated the MLAs' moves to making 'advance bookings' akin to pre-booking tickets for a popular show, indicating significant political upheaval in Punjab's near future.
