In a serious allegation, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of manipulating the voters' list, purportedly with the Election Commission's endorsement. On Thursday, she announced the formation of a committee tasked with investigating these electoral irregularities within West Bengal's districts.
Banerjee claims BJP created fake voters' lists, a tactic allegedly used to sway elections in Maharashtra and Delhi, now being employed in West Bengal. 'Sitting in the Election Commissioner's office, they have created a fake voter's list online. Most of these forged entries originate from Haryana and Gujarat,' Banerjee asserted, emphasizing that this manipulation aims to weaken the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and remove genuine names from the list.
Banerjee urges the people of Bengal to stay vigilant regarding the voter list, highlighting the potential risk posed by NRC and CAA maneuvers. She announced the establishment of an IT Media cell and other committees, demanding regular reports. She further warned that BJP might implement 'One Nation One Election' and condemned their approaches as undemocratic.
