In response to a heinous rape incident in Pune, BJP MP Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad strongly condemned the act, emphasizing the decisive measures being taken under the leadership of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Speaking to ANI on Friday, Karad assured that the accused would face stringent punishment.

The accused was nabbed by a diligent team from the Pune Crime Branch in Gunat village, Shirur Tehsil. Pune Police revealed that after the necessary legal procedures, the perpetrator would be presented in court. A special counsel is to be appointed to expedite the trial, reflecting efforts to deter future occurrences.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar lauded the people of Gunat for their cooperation in the arrest. Utilizing resources such as dog squads and drone cameras, nearly 500 officers engaged in the manhunt. Although the operation took time, community involvement was pivotal in apprehending the suspect.
