Madhya Pradesh Assembly Session: A Budget Battleground

The Madhya Pradesh assembly's budget session kicks off on Monday, set against a backdrop of dissent from the Congress over pressing farmer issues.
Spanning two weeks and concluding on March 24, the session will feature nine sittings, as per the assembly secretariat.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav promised that the budget will mark a pivotal moment for development in the state, having been crafted with public consensus.
However, the Congress opposition intends to highlight issues such as unemployment, crime against women, and alleged corruption, notably disproportionate assets within the Transport Department.
The protests align with Congress claims that farmer-related promises remain unfulfilled and that the economic burden on them has increased despite the ruling party's assurances.
Additionally, Congress leaders accuse the BJP government of unkept promises made in the assembly, highlighting a lack of action on over 2,500 questions raised in parliament.
