An Emirati diplomat reportedly delivered a letter from US President Donald Trump to Iran's foreign minister, as seen on Iranian state television. The Emirati official, Anwar Gargash, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran. No footage of the letter was shown, but Tehran had stated that Gargash would be carrying it.

The move represents an attempt by Trump to initiate talks over Iran's nuclear program. Recently, Trump acknowledged writing to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, aiming to start negotiations amid nuclear tensions.
