In a fierce rebuke, Indian Secular Front (ISF) leader Nawsad Siddique lambasted Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari for his controversial comments against the Muslim MLAs of Trinamool Congress (TMC). Siddique branded Adhikari's statement as 'absolutely undemocratic' and challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) leadership to endorse such rhetoric.
Questioning Adhikari's motives, Siddique asserted that the remarks aimed to incite Hindu-Muslim political friction amidst approaching assembly elections in West Bengal. 'Does his party agree with him? Will the top BJP leadership agree to this? They are fueling rivalry with the TMC,' Siddique stated, urging Adhikari to withdraw his remarks.
Tensions escalated after Adhikari's controversial statements about the potential expulsion of TMC's Muslim MLAs if BJP comes to power, drawing severe criticism from West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC MP Saugata Roy, who denounced Adhikari's views as divisive and communal.
