Ajit Kumar Mishra Appointed as Political Secretary by Biju Janata Dal

The Biju Janata Dal appointed former bureaucrat Ajit Kumar Mishra as a political secretary to its president, Naveen Patnaik. Mishra was previously a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. His appointment follows the recent reconstitution of the party's Political Affairs Committee by Patnaik.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) announced on Wednesday that it has appointed Ajit Kumar Mishra as a political secretary to party president, Naveen Patnaik. Mishra, a former bureaucrat and promoted IAS officer, brings extensive experience to the role.

This move makes Mishra the second political secretary to Patnaik, following the appointment of business leader Santrupt Misra last year. Mishra, a former Nabarangpur district collector, was in contention for a BJD ticket for the Lok Sabha elections from Kalahandi.

The appointment coincides with Patnaik's recent restructuring of the BJD's Political Affairs Committee and the selection of new state-level office-bearers. This strategic change is seen as a step to bolster the party's organizational strength.
