Operation Sindhu: India's Evacuation Mission Amidst Middle East Tensions

India has been conducting evacuation flights under Operation Sindhu amidst rising tensions in the Middle East. So far, over 2,200 Indians have been brought back from Iran and Israel due to hostilities. This operation involves chartered flights from locations such as Mashhad, Yerevan, and Ashgabat.

India continues its evacuation efforts from Iran, as tensions mount following the US bombing of Iranian nuclear sites. More than 2,200 Indian nationals have returned from the Persian Gulf region under the mission, Operation Sindhu.

On Tuesday, a special flight carried 292 Indians from Mashhad, touching down in New Delhi early in the morning. The mission also includes evacuations from Israel, facilitated by a C-17 military aircraft of the Indian Air Force.

Efforts are ongoing with flights departing from various locations, including Mashhad and Yerevan, amid escalating missile exchanges between Iran and Israel. To date, multiple chartered flights have landed safely in India, bringing citizens home from a volatile region.
