His political journey included serving as Kerala's Chief Minister from 2006 to 2011, alongside seven terms as an elected member of the state Assembly.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi conveyed his sorrow over Achuthanandan's death, extending condolences to the bereaved family and countless admirers.
