The Delhi Police has dismissed a video shared by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as 'fabricated' and 'politically motivated.' The video accused the police of assaulting a Bengali-speaking woman and her child in Delhi.
Investigations led to the identification of Sanjanu Parveen, who initially alleged police misconduct on July 26. However, further inquiry revealed that the incident was staged, with Parveen, prompted by her political relative, creating the video to malign Delhi Police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Abhishek Dhania emphasized that the inquiries have exposed a politically driven attempt to defame the force, although investigations continue.
