Congress Slams BJP Leaders for Diverting with Nehru Criticism

On Wednesday, Congress criticized Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah for their remarks against India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, during a Lok Sabha discussion. Congress accused the BJP leaders of deflecting attention from current failures by resorting to diversion and defamation tactics.

In a fiery exchange in the Lok Sabha, the Congress party launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of deflecting attention from contemporary governance failures by criticizing India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said the BJP leaders' focus on Nehru is an attempt to evade accountability. 'They suffer from an obsessive-compulsive disorder when it comes to Nehru,' Ramesh asserted, questioning their refusal to address ongoing policy shortcomings.

Amidst discussions on issues like the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, Modi and Shah linked Nehru to historical blunders, including the loss of Aksai Chin and the Indus Waters Treaty. Congress contends these comments serve to distract from pressing issues facing the government today.
