Vaiko Vows to Shield Tamil Nadu from Hindutva Influence

Marumalarchi Dravida Munetra Kazhagam (MDMK) leader Vaiko, in a firm declaration made on Friday, affirmed that he would resist any attempts by Hindutva groups, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), to gain influence in Tamil Nadu. His statements came after a meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who was recuperating post-hospital discharge. Vaiko reiterated his party's alliance with the DMK, emphasizing their commitment to prevent a coalition government in the state, claiming an inevitable absolute majority for DMK in forthcoming elections.

Highlighting Tamil Nadu's political landscape, Vaiko lauded the state government's prompt response to the heinous murder of a 27-year-old Dalit techie in Thoothukudi. This case involved immediate arrests, including that of a police sub-inspector, marking a decisive action by the authorities. Vaiko's discussion with CM Stalin also touched upon the CM's health, noting Stalin's dedication to duty even during his hospitalization.

Further political discourse was provided by DMK spokesperson TKS Elangovan, who criticized Tamil Nadu's Leader of Opposition, Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), labeling him a 'BJP slave.'
