In a statement on Monday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra described the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar as a critical issue that necessitates government discussion and action. She questioned the reason for the opposition not to vocalize concerns regarding the voters' list.
Her comments followed the adjournment of the Lok Sabha until 2 pm due to opposition-led protests demanding a dialogue on the voter roll revision. Priyanka Gandhi emphasized, 'If changes are being made to the voters' list, it should be openly discussed.'
Members of the INDIA bloc have been demonstrating against the Election Commission's move in Bihar, alleging it aims to disenfranchise voters before the Assembly elections. Protests were paused out of respect for the passing of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren.
