State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), K Ramakrishna, has expressed deep concerns about the state of democracy in the country. During an interview with ANI, he claimed that the current governing party, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is undermining democratic principles by collaborating with the Election Commission to manipulate voter rolls.
Ramakrishna referenced several incidents, including the removal of 65 lakh voters' names during the Bihar Assembly elections, alleging similar tactics helped the BJP amass parliamentary power. He asserted that the BJP uses illicit methods like fake votes and black money, urging democrats across the nation to unite against these 'anti-people forces' as massive movements are anticipated.
He also criticized the Andhra Pradesh government led by Chandrababu Naidu, accusing the 'double-engine sarkar' of deepening the state's debt crisis with a burden of Rs 1.75 lakh crore within a year. Ramakrishna demanded immediate action on the state's 'Super Six' promises, emphasizing the need for additional buses and staff to implement women's free bus travel effectively.
