Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday condemned the 130th Constitution Amendment Bill, introduced in the Lok Sabha, as a strategical reach by the ruling party to suppress non-BJP state governments.

In a forceful statement, Vijayan suggested that the bill is part of a broader, politically motivated strategy by the central government to destabilize opposition-led administrations across the nation by leveraging central investigative agencies.

Vijayan argued that the amendment comes on the heels of systematic efforts to undermine state governments, particularly targeting opposition leaders and imprisoning them on unsubstantiated charges. He criticized the BJP's purported practice of disqualifying political opponents through these means while urging citizens who support democracy to challenge what he views as the Centre's anti-democratic maneuvers.
