The Congress party has accused the Election Commission of attempting to undermine democracy through the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. According to the Congress, the revision is unnecessary and politically motivated. They cite the Election Commission's own survey, which reported near-perfect accuracy in Bihar's voter listings.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh raised concerns on social media platform X, arguing that despite the robust electoral roll system, many eligible voters remain unenrolled. He attributed this issue to the complexities associated with securing voter identification cards and a lack of public awareness.

Ramesh questioned the timing of the revision, suggesting it might be influenced by political motives to secure the Prime Minister's position and stabilize the NDA coalition. He emphasized that the focus should be on including eligible citizens in the voter rolls, rather than potentially excluding them.
