Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) chief TTV Dhinakaran has publicly defended his party's decision to exit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He directed sharp criticism at AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami, highlighting the political rifts constituting his party's departure.

Dhinakaran emphasized that AMMK's initial participation in the NDA was strategically maintained even after AIADMK rejoined the alliance, influenced by input from well-wishers and anticipated positive developments. He reasoned that Palaniswami's leadership was incompatible with AMMK's values.

Critiquing AIADMK's electoral defeats, Dhinakaran attributed the failures to Palaniswami's policies, such as not reinstating expelled leaders. Dhinakaran stated the AMMK's presence impacted the AIADMK's 2021 Assembly election results negatively, asserting that AMMK's breakaway reflects unresolved internal conflicts.
