Karnataka BJP Raises Concerns Over Caste Census Controversy

Karnataka BJP leaders recently approached Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to lodge their concerns over the forthcoming caste census, which they allege includes 46 castes with dual identities featuring both Christian and Hindu names.

The delegation, including prominent party members like Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and P C Mohan, insisted that these dual identities might provoke significant confusion and potentially spurn mass religious conversions, urging the Governor to halt the survey.

BJP critics claim the survey represents a politically-driven effort to splinter the community, urging a transparent, national-aligned census instead. They vowed to continue legal and street campaigns should the government proceed unchanged.
