Tamil Nadu BJP leader K Annamalai dismissed concerns over a video showing AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami leaving the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah with his face masked. Annamalai asserted the meeting's official nature rendered any disguise unnecessary.
Palaniswami's interaction with Shah on September 16 had been public, and Annamalai emphasized there was no requirement for the AIADMK leader to hide. Despite this, the video surfaced, prompting criticism from AMMK general secretary T T V Dhinakaran, who mocked Palaniswami.
In related politics, Annamalai criticized Chief Minister M K Stalin for praising former state minister V Senthil Balaji despite past corruption accusations. Additionally, Annamalai called on Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam to control party workers. The political climate remains tense with impending elections.
