The Naga People's Front's (NPF) internal discord has come to light with recent statements from its secretary general, Achumbemo Kikon. Kikon openly criticized Lorho S. Pfoze, a former NPF MP from Outer Manipur, for allegedly causing repeated embarrassments to the party during his tenure.
Kikon expressed his reluctance to initially comment on Pfoze's move to the National People's Party (NPP) but could not ignore the controversies surrounding Pfoze's record as an NPF parliamentarian. Citing allegations from BJP leader Chuba Ao and Pfoze's disqualification for filing a false affidavit, which was later overturned by the Supreme Court, Kikon voiced strong objections.
Refuting Pfoze's claims of the NPF being 'highly exclusive,' the party maintained its commitment to inclusivity, stating its significant support across various communities in Manipur. The NPF emphasized its efforts in securing Pfoze's election win and criticized his recent remarks as 'immature and divisive.'
