In the aftermath of a shocking lynching of a Dalit man, Hariom, in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli, political unrest is growing. Congress leaders have adamantly called for the resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident.

Hariom, reportedly mentally unstable, was accused by a mob of being a drone thief and was brutally beaten, leading to his death. The violent act underscores what Congress describes as a complete collapse of law and order in the state. Rajendra Pal Gautam, Congress' SC Department chief, alleged increasing rates of Dalit oppression, citing data revealing rampant anti-Dalit crimes in BJP-ruled states.

The Congress is demanding not only justice but also compensation for the victim's family, alongside a government employment opportunity for one family member. Party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, are standing in solidarity with the bereaved family, condemning the normalization of lynching and seeking stringent action against the offenders.
