In a significant development ahead of the Bihar elections, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya launched a critique against the opposition Mahagathbandhan following the arrest of RJD candidate Satendra Sah on dacoity charges. Adding to the political turmoil, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) withdrew its participation from the elections, citing betrayal by alliance partners.

In a statement to the press, Maurya highlighted Sah's arrest by Jharkhand Police and remarked on JMM's exit as indelible evidence of the Mahagathbandhan's disintegration. Maurya affirmed his belief in an NDA victory for both the upcoming 2025 elections and beyond, suggesting Mahagathbandhan would remain out of favor until after 2047.

Sudivya Kumar of JMM voiced deep regret over the alliance dynamics, criticizing the RJD and Congress for strategic deception. This sentiment was echoed post an October 7 meeting in Patna, where failed seat-sharing negotiations were attributed to RJD's and Congress's manipulation. Meanwhile, NDA, incorporating key parties, gears up for a significant electoral battle in November.
