Santosh Sahani, president of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), has announced his intention to take legal action against election officials in Gaura Bauram, Darbhanga. Sahani accuses the officials of failing to reject the candidacy of RJD's Afzal Ali Khan despite RJD chief Lalu Prasad's written request to disqualify Khan.
The situation unfolded when the RJD, which initially backed Khan, switched its support to the VIP candidate, Santosh Sahani, the brother of party founder Mukesh Sahani. Khan, however, did not withdraw, resulting in a direct contest between two Mahagathbandhan allies for the Gaura Bauram seat.
As the election approaches, the rivalry intensifies with RJD supporters inadvertently divided. Despite the RJD's directives, Khan retains the party's electoral symbol, possibly causing voter confusion. The situation adds complexity to an already competitive race involving BJP's Sujit Kumar and Jan Suraaj Party's Md Iftekhar Alam.
