Congress Member of Parliament Akhilesh Prasad Singh has admitted to internal tensions within the Mahagathbandhan, the grand coalition, regarding the distribution of election tickets for the Bihar assembly elections. Singh stated that the disagreements have projected a negative image to the public.
Emphasizing the urgency of resolving these conflicts, Singh noted that senior Congress leaders are actively working to prevent friendly contests in the elections, as nominations can still be withdrawn by tomorrow. He assured that the high command is addressing the matter.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal recently revealed its slate of 143 candidates, intensifying competition with Congress candidates on overlapping seats despite their coalition. In constituencies like Narkatiaganj and Kahalgaon, RJD and Congress candidates are set for a face-off. The elections, set for November 6 and 11, will see the major contest between the ruling NDA and the Mahagathbandhan.
