YSRCP's 'One-Crore Signature' Campaign Shakes Andhra's Government

YSRCP's 'one-crore signature' campaign is challenging the PPP model in Andhra Pradesh's state medical colleges, opposing the privatisation efforts accused of denying affordable education. The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has launched a 'one-crore signature' campaign against the Chandrababu Naidu-led government's plan for public-private partnerships (PPP) in government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh, which it claims undermines affordable medical education and healthcare for the needy.

Accusing the Naidu government of promoting a corporate agenda at the expense of the poor, the YSRCP criticized the proposal to privatize medical colleges as damaging to future prospects for students. During former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure, 17 government medical colleges were established, which the party now believes are at risk of being handed to private hands.

Alleging that the ruling coalition lacks genuine public support, the YSRCP asserts that the signature drive is a movement of solidarity among one crore families to protect their rights to medical education. The party is determined to reverse the government's PPP decision.
