In a strategic move to gear up for the forthcoming BMC elections, the Mumbai Congress unveiled an 18-member panel of spokespersons. This decision follows the party's resolution to contest the elections independently. Among the prominent figures in the panel are MLAs Aslam Shaikh, Amin Patel, and Jyoti Gaikwad, alongside other distinguished leaders and former corporators.
Leading the charge as the chief spokesperson is Sachin Sawant, while Sureshchandra Rajhans takes on the role of media coordinator. This move reflects the party's effort to establish a robust communication framework ahead of the crucial municipal polls, as highlighted in a party statement.
Further bolstering its internal framework, the Congress has constituted a Caste Validity and Scrutiny Committee. Ashok Sutrale has been appointed as its chairman, with Rajesh Tekke serving as coordinator, and a total of 16 members are included in this newly formed committee.
