In the midst of questions surrounding potential conflicts of interest, U.S. President Donald Trump affirmed his distance from the Trump Organization on Tuesday. This comes as the organization collaborates with a Saudi developer to open a new Trump hotel in the Maldives.
During a meeting with the Saudi crown prince in the Oval Office, Trump was pressed on whether the Trump Organization's business dealings with Saudi Arabia posed a conflict given his presidency.
Addressing these concerns, Trump stated, "I have nothing to do with the family business. I have left, and I've devoted 100% of my energy." He further elaborated that while his family could engage more with Saudi Arabia, any past business has been positive.
